Earline Conrad rescue:
(Original text may be viewed
here.)
Mr. Conrad died on 1 February 2001 at South Shore Regional Hospital:
We, the family of the late Earline (Earl) Conrad would like to thank
those who placed memoriams, sent cards and flowers, phone calls and
visited during our recent bereavement. Special thanks to Drs. Kelly,
Proctor, Atkinson, Hatheway, nurses, doctors and staff throughout
Fishermen's and South Shore Regional Hospitals, from out-patients to
ICU and the floors in between. To Dr. David Morse, thanks for
speaking to the doctor on our behalf. Again, many thanks to Dorothy,
who is always there when the going gets rough, Monica for being at
our side throughout the time Earl spent in the hospital, and Suzanne
who kept popping in with tea. To the ambulance workers (Gary Dares
and his partner), who went above and beyond their call of duty, by
not only caring for Earl, but for helping to shovel him out of the
house, as well as Randy Whynacht who responded personally to the
emergency call, shovelled along with Rev. Douglas Moore and the two
angels who stopped their vehicle to help out (Jim Hiltz and his
helper). You all showed the kindness that can truly be found by
living in a small town. Also, thanks to Mike and staff at Sweeny's
Funeral Home for their assistance, Rev. Douglas Moore for the
visits, songs, Bible readings and the wonderful service he gave,
along with the singing of the male choir (of which Earl was very
proud to say he was a member). Also, the fellowship group who
provided refreshments after the service. Thanks to the pallbearers:
Doug Meisner, Herbert Zinck (male choir), Michael Nelson (grandson),
Trevor Church (great-grandson), Ronnie Lohnes and Scott Allen
(grandsons-in-law). To anyone else who is not listed, but knows in
their heart who helped out in any way, we thank you as well.
Everyone's kindness will always be appreciated. May God Bless!
Herbert Nelson, Janette Church, Clarence Grondin and families.
